Moving Past Health Challenges
One of the most difficult challenges to personal empowerment can be your degree of health. Poor health can be a serious barrier to moving forward in your life. Daily health challenges can interfere with daily aspirations or goals.
Do you simply lack the physical energy to put a plan in place and follow through to its fruition? And of course with low physical energy comes low emotional energy, no drive or motivation to move ahead or get things done. Inother words you become stuck in the muck.
Of course some emotional issues such as depression, anxiety, low self esteem and other mood or psychological disorders may require professional assistance.
However, for most of us, it is a matter of confronting moving past health challenges so we can have the quality of life we desire. And you can have it.
Identify some compelling reasons for wanting or needing to improve your health in some manner. Write them down and post them in a few conspicuous places so you can read it often throughout the day.
Increasing your energy level can be as simple as a walk around the block at a healthy but relaxed pace or a few consecutive up and down the staircase at work or home, just enougth to get your wind going a bit.
How about a bit of gentle stretching while watching TV or while sitting at your computer at home and at work. Easy to do stuff especially if you have those compelling reasons cheering you on.
Some light resistance training say light dumbells or a heavy book or whatever works wonders if done consistently. Another activity which can be done while watching you’re favorite program.
You can come up with your own, I’m sure; just make it fun and easy to do and you will be more likely to adapt into your daily routine which is the key.
Of course changing your diet to more energy producing foods and staying away from the heavy carbs and sugar products would help considerably but we all know that don’t we.
A quick testimonial. My dad quit smoking when his first grandchild was born. Stopped a 30 year two pack a day habit because he had a reason that was very compelling to him which pushed him to stick to his commitment. He did stick to it and so can you.
Just decide for reasons that are important to you that you are going to stop feeding your lack of health and start feeding your future. Your life depends upon it.
